Maxon crumb honored8/27/2023 ![]() ![]() Maxon practices celibacy and has done so for many years because, as he has explained in interviews, for him, sex triggers epileptic seizures. Maxon"s drawings are available online as well as fine art limited edition prints. ![]() During this time Maxon says that he will enter into an intense creative state where the work becomes paramount, to the detriment of normal everyday concerns including eating. Although Maxon has been drawing, painting, and writing for over 25 years (early work appeared in Weirdo, Liquidator, and his self-published Crumb's Brother's Magazine), it is only since the publication of Maxon's Poe (Word Play, 1997) and HardCore Mother (CityZen Books, 2001) his first novel, that his artistry has been accessible to a wide audie. Paintings and ink drawings can take weeks or months to complete. Since the publication of HardCore Mother (2001) his work has found a wider audience. His first published novel, HardCore Mother (2000) was a study of incest and sadism. Maxon"s early work can be found in works such as Weirdo, Liquidator, Maxon"s Poe (1997), and Crumb Family Comics (Last Gasp, 1998). However, he has subsequently come to use it to support himself, replacing his previous need to panhandle. Maxon initially started painting as a way to deal with his own personal demons. ![]() Maxon was featured in the documentary Crumb. Maxon Crumb is an American artist and the younger brother of underground cartoonist Robert Crumb and Charles Crumb, and the uncle of Sophie Crumb, he also has two sisters, Carol DeGennaro and Sandra Colorado, who is the widow of writer Marty Pahls, a Robert Crumb crony.
